The celebrated poet JANINE CANAN reads from her life-long writings including her newly published works Mystic Bliss: Poems, and My Millennium: Culture, Spirituality & the Divine Feminine.

JANINE CANAN is the author of over twenty books of poetry, storybooks, essays, and the award-winning anthologies, She Rises like the Sun: Invocations of the Goddess by Contempoary American Women Poets and Messages from Amma: In the Language of the Heart.  She has authored key translations of 20th century European poets, including Francis Jammes and Else Lasker-Schüler, and is a graduate of Stanford University, cum laude, and New York University School of Medicine.

Janine is a private psychiatrist in Sonoma, California, who is a passionate champion of women’s equality, and a devoted follower of Mata Amritanandamayi.
